Locally sourced, produced and traditionally made

Few things tell you as much about a culture as its’ agriculture and cooking. We are therefore careful to keep tradition in mind when we source our ingredients and prepare your meals, whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner. Our food evokes an Arctic cultural history and recreates intimate links to a life lived in harmony with nature.

If we haven't picked, grown or hunted it ourselves, our ingredients come from neighbours. Villagers bake all our bread. Our housekeeper pitches our honey. In our arctic garden we grow our almond potatoes, vegetables and herbs, while blackcurrants and rowanberries grow on our doorstep.

In addition, there are very few pests and plant diseases in the Torne Valley, which means that crops do not need to develop bitter-tasting defences. So a carrot grown here tastes more carrot than anywhere else.

When you book your stay with us, you need to book your meals at the same time. These are served in our main building Wennberg. If you prefer to cook the food yourself, possible in Tolonen, Kristina and Anundi, we prepare by filling your fridge and freezer according to your wishes. We put together a food bag with ingredients and instructions on how to prepare the dinner. If you prefer a mix of the two, we'll arrange that.

Welcome to a discovery of food for real.
